Recycle Clothes.
Aim to Reuse rather than Recycle.
Don't Leave Lights On.
Don't Leave on T.V, Nintendos, Computers... etc?!
Walk instead of Drive!
Dropping Litter can Kill Wildlife so DONT!

Thrift stores and garage sales.

Hi, its me, Angela, telling you how you can SAVE THE WORLD. Today I am going to talk about the benefits of shopping at thrift stores and garage sales. oh, and antique stores too. lol.
1. these sales, and shops, tend to be cheeper.
2. even if they are second hand shops, that doesn't mean that they have bad things.
I myself get a bunch of my clothes at goodwill, and half the time its stuff which have their tags still on.
3. You won't be wearing the same things that everyone else is wearing.
4. its greener. if you reuse clothes, that is better for the enviroment, because that means you aren't buying something new, when, in a second hand shop, there is the same thing, only its already been used.
5. a lot of times some of the money which those stores get goes to charity.
6. you can find a lot of stuff at thrift stores, and places like that, which you can't find somewhere else!

oh, and by the way, I've noticed that you can get practically anything at one of those stores. I especially like to get books there, because they have history. lol. about three fourths of the books on my book shelf are from goodwill or garage sales. =D

how to save energy in your day to day life

Hi, its me, Angela, telling you how you can SAVE THE WORLD. Today I am going to tell you some simple ways you can reduse how much energy you use, in your day-t0-day life.

1. Turn off lights. This can't be stressed enough. I bet you've all heard this a million times, but seriously people, TURN OFF YOUR LIGHTS!!!
2. wash your clothes in cold water. This way your water heater doesn't have to heat more water. Heating water does take energy.
3. Don't over dry your clothes! If you have three pieces of laundry, which you don't need right away, hang them up to dry. In the summer, hang up clothes on a clothes line.
4. use your microwave. If you have to make only one bowl of oatmeal, use the microwave. If you need to heat up some leftovers, use your microwave. If you turn the stove/oven on just to warm up a small bowl of soup, thats wasting energy.
5. Defrost your foods in the refrigerator. If you put whatever you need to de-frost in the refrigerator, it will (a) defrost and (b) the coldness it gives off will keep the fridge colder, which means the fridge doesn't have to use as much energy.

Power Vampires!!

Hi, its me, Angela, telling you how you can SAVE THE WORLD!!
Ok, I bet everyone here knows about the vampire craze going around, helped spread by Twilight fans, right? Well, I'm not talking about those types, because we all know that they don't exist. The type I'm talking about are little things with pointy teeth which suck electricity. Power vampires, a.k.a., TV's, radios, laptops, computers, DVD players, Clocks, Ipod and cellphone chargers, or, anything with a digital clock, remote control, or charger. I know that you used to think that your house was free from mosters. WRONG. Practically everyone's house is invaded, and has been taken over by vampires. But, if we can't get rid of them the usual ways, wooden stake in the heart, sunshine, crosses, garlic, how can we get rid of them?? Thats what I'm going to be instructing you on today. (I bet you've never thought killing vampires was good for the enviroment, am I right??)
1. This is the most important. unplug everything. If you aren't going to use it in the next two hours, turn it off. Don't just click the "Off" button, because even if it says off, if it is still plugged in, it will still be using electricity.
2. do you really need everything? do you actually need two digital clocks in one room? No? get rid of the extra one. Do you think your actually going to use that TV in the bathroom? (Even if you don't believe me, I saw a house where there was a TV in the bathroom.) No? get rid of it, or at least unplug it.
3. Power strips. plug your cellphone chargers, computer, Ipod docks, whatever, plug it to a power strip. well, not the computer, but small things, things you don't use when your out of the room. When you leave the room, turn the power strip off. this is what I do myself to our downstairs TV.
4. when your cellphone says it's done charging, remove it from the charger and turn the charger off, or unplug it. if you don't, it will just keep chugging away, using energy which could be used somewhere else.
5. TELL OTHER PEOPLE!!! Just like you wouldn't keep it a secret if you actually had a vampire who wanted to suck your blood running around in your house, don't keep power vampires a secret! tell your friends! get a "hunt a vampire" club together. do something!!! before they take over the world!!! ahhhh!
